Next.js / React Hosting

Next.js and React hosting is designed for modern frontend frameworks that produce either a static export of HTML/CSS/JS files or a server-rendered Node.js application. Static exports are served with long-lived, immutable cache headers for fast repeat delivery, while SSR mode runs a persistent Node.js process that handles server-side rendering, API routes and incremental static regeneration. This hosting is for teams building marketing sites with CMS integration, SaaS frontends with the Next.js App Router, e-commerce storefronts with Shopify or Medusa backends, and documentation sites with search and versioning. It supports Next.js, Remix, Astro, SvelteKit, Nuxt and any framework that produces a Node.js server output or a static build. What makes SteboHost different is that we detect your framework and build mode automatically. A Next.js project with static export is served through the built-in CDN cache with immutable headers on fingerprinted assets, purged automatically on every deploy. A Next.js project with SSR runs a Node.js process under systemd supervision — restarted within one second of a crash — with the App Router, Server Components and Server Actions fully supported. Image optimisation runs on the server during SSR builds. ISR is supported on SSR plans with on-demand revalidation.

Why Next.js / React Hosting

Why developers choose SteboHost for next.js / react hosting

Specific reasons — not generic marketing claims.

Static and SSR in one platform

You are not locked into one deployment mode. A static export is served as cached files with no server cost. An SSR deployment runs a Node.js process for rendering and API routes. You can switch between modes as your project evolves.

Full App Router support

The Next.js App Router with Server Components, Server Actions, streaming and Suspense is fully supported. SSR mode runs a Node.js server process that handles rendering, data fetching and route handlers exactly as Next.js intends.

Immutable CDN caching for static assets

Static files from the build output — JavaScript bundles, CSS, images — are served through the built-in CDN cache with immutable cache headers, so browsers cache fingerprinted assets long-term. The cache is purged automatically on every deploy, so stale assets never outlive their release.

Image optimisation built in

For SSR deployments, Next.js Image Optimisation runs on the server. For static exports, configure a CDN loader so images are resized and served from cache without hitting the origin for every request.

Preview deployments

Push to a feature branch and get an isolated preview deployment with its own URL. Share the preview link with your team or clients for review before merging to production. Preview environments are cleaned up automatically.

How it works

From repository to production in five steps

The deployment workflow, end to end — visible, automated and reversible.

1

Connect your repository

Link your GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket repository. We detect your framework from the config file — next.config.js, astro.config.mjs, remix.config.js — and determine whether the build produces static files or a Node.js server.

2

Build and optimise

On every push, we run your build script. Next.js produces either a static export or a Node.js server build. Tree-shaking, code-splitting and minification run during the build. Build logs stream in real time with warnings and errors highlighted.

3

Static assets cached

Static files from the build output are served through the built-in CDN cache with immutable headers. Fingerprinted assets are cached long-term by browsers, and the cache is purged automatically on every deploy, reducing repeat load times significantly.

4

SSR process starts

For SSR deployments, the Node.js server process starts as a systemd unit. It handles server-side rendering, API routes, Server Actions and ISR revalidation. systemd restarts the process within one second of a crash.

5

Rollback if needed

If a release causes rendering errors or broken pages, click rollback in the portal. The previous build — static files or SSR process — starts serving immediately. No rebuild is needed.

Use cases

What people build with Next.js / React Hosting

Common workloads our customers run on this stack.

Marketing sites

Static Next.js or Astro sites with CMS integration and cached assets. Content from a headless CMS like Sanity, Contentful or Strapi is fetched at build time, and the static output is served with long-lived cache headers for fast page loads worldwide.

SaaS frontends

Next.js App Router with SSR, API routes and authenticated dashboards. Server Components fetch data on the server, reducing client-side JavaScript. Server Actions handle form submissions and mutations without writing separate API endpoints.

E-commerce storefronts

Next.js Commerce or custom storefronts with Shopify, Medusa or Saleor backends. ISR keeps product pages fresh without rebuilding the entire site, and cached pages are served instantly while revalidation runs in the background.

Documentation sites

Next.js or Astro documentation with search, versioning and dark mode. Static generation produces fast, searchable documentation pages delivered globally with sub-second load times for repeat visitors thanks to long-lived cache headers.

Performance

Built for speed, not benchmarks

Concrete performance guarantees — not vague promises.

CDN caching with automatic purge

Static assets and static-export pages are served through the built-in CDN cache. Fingerprinted assets get immutable cache headers, so browsers and cache nodes keep them long-term, and the cache is purged automatically on every deploy. This reduces origin requests and improves LCP for repeat visitors.

Build-time optimisation

Tree-shaking removes unused code, code-splitting creates per-route bundles, and minification reduces file sizes. These optimisations run during the build, so the production output is already lean before it reaches the CDN cache or SSR process.

Build caching between deploys

Dependency caches from previous builds are reused when your lockfile has not changed, and build logs stream in real time. This skips redundant installs and reduces build time significantly for projects with large dependency trees.

SSR process monitoring

The Node.js SSR process is monitored with health checks every 60 seconds. If rendering fails or the process crashes, systemd restarts it within one second and alerts you. CPU and memory metrics are collected every minute, so leaks in the rendering layer show up in the portal sparklines.

Security

Security is included, not optional

SSL, isolation, backups and monitoring — on every plan.

Automatic SSL on all domains

SSL certificates are provisioned and renewed automatically on every custom domain and subdomain. The reverse proxy terminates SSL for both static and SSR deployments, so your application never handles certificate files.

Web application firewall with the OWASP Core Rule Set

Every deployment — static and SSR — sits behind the built-in web application firewall running the OWASP Core Rule Set: SQL injection, XSS and brute-force protection with per-deployment custom rules and a blocked-request log. For DDoS absorption at the network edge, put Cloudflare in front of your domain.

Encrypted environment variables

Environment variables for API routes, SSR data fetching and third-party integrations are encrypted at rest. They are injected at runtime into the SSR process and build environment, never written to disk in plaintext.

Preview deployment isolation

Preview deployments from feature branches run in isolated environments with their own environment variables. Preview URLs are not indexed by search engines and can be password-protected for client review before production merge.

Migration

Migrating to SteboHost

Move your existing application without downtime or data loss.

From Vercel or Netlify

If you are moving from Vercel or Netlify, your next.config.js and build settings work as-is. Set your environment variables in the portal, connect your repository and push. We detect the framework and build mode automatically.

Static export migration

If your project uses static export, the build output is served through the CDN cache with immutable headers on fingerprinted assets. No server process is needed, and the migration is as simple as connecting your repository and triggering a build. DNS cutover is the only manual step.

SSR migration

For SSR projects, the Node.js server process starts as a systemd-supervised unit. Your API routes, Server Actions and data fetching logic work without changes. We handle SSL termination and reverse proxy configuration for you.
