How it works

Four steps to transfer

Unlock, get the code, initiate, confirm. We handle the rest — including DNS replication for zero downtime.

  1. 1

    Unlock your domain

At your current registrar, disable the transfer lock. Most registrars call this "domain lock" or "registrar lock" — toggle it off in their dashboard.

  2. 2

    Get the EPP auth code

Request the EPP authorisation code (also called transfer key or auth code) from your current registrar. They send it to the registrant email on file.

  3. 3

    Initiate the transfer

Enter your domain and the EPP code below. We submit the transfer request to the registry and send a confirmation email to the registrant.

  4. 4

    Confirm via email

Approve the transfer from the confirmation email. The registry processes the transfer — usually within 5–7 days, faster if your old registrar releases it early.

Why transfer to us

What you get when you move

More than a registrar move — you get DNS, privacy and billing built for Kenya.

One-year renewal included

A transfer includes a one-year extension on your domain. You do not lose time — you gain a year.

Keep your DNS active

Your DNS stays live during the transfer. We replicate your records so there is no downtime — visitors see your site throughout.

Free DNS management

After transfer, manage your DNS records from our portal — A, AAAA, MX, TXT, CNAME — with instant propagation.

M-Pesa billing

Pay for your transfer in KES with M-Pesa, card or bank transfer. No foreign exchange surprises.

Email forwarding included

Set up forwarding from your domain (sales@yourdomain.co.ke) to any mailbox at no extra cost.

Free privacy protection

WHOIS privacy is included on supported TLDs — your personal details are not published in the public registry.

Transfer FAQ

Domain transfer questions, answered

Timing, downtime, EPP codes and what a transfer includes.

Most transfers complete within 5–7 days. The exact time depends on your current registrar releasing the domain — some release immediately, others wait the full 5 days. gTLDs (.com, .org, .net) are usually faster; ccTLDs (.co.ke, .or.ke) vary by registry.

Having trouble getting your auth code?

We can walk you through the process — and help if your current registrar is unhelpful.
